Ehpem! This is just beautiful. The boats add a lot, I think, as does that thin band of color across the center of the image.

Thank you Melinda! There often is not much colour in this area, when the mist settles in and the dark greens go to dark grey. The smallest boat in the picture, about 24 feet I think, had gone from Seattle area to far up the Alaska panhandle, and was just returning south. Quite a trip for them.

That is a long trip in a not-very-big vessel! How long do you think it took them?

I think a couple of leisurely months. We passed another sailboat moving at a very determined pace. It was Alaska bound from southern Chile – been out for 4 months.

Nope. I don’t think I could do that. I need solid ground under me feet…

Thanks so much Lynn – I don’t think anyone has ever said that about any of my images, and perhaps never will again. Thanks again!

You are more than welcome; hopefully that won’t be the only time you hear such a comment 🙂

A beautiful landscape and photo, Mr E. It almost looks like a tintype.

Thank you Kate. It is a serene place much of the time – very protected – but it does rain a lot in here.
