Fired Up III
Here is another photo from the Fired Up ceramics show in Metchosin.
This is Cathi Jefferson, a potter based in the Cowichan Valley.
I have previously written about Cathi’s ceramics here.
We have accumulated a lot of her pottery over the last several years and use it every day.

I love the two pieces of hers that I got on my visit to BC – thanks for introducing me to her work. And it’s nice to see this photo, so I know what she looks like!

Thanks Melinda – at long last I am getting back to comments and so on. I agree, it is nice to have an idea of what the artist looks like, it makes the art more personal in some way.

I have my two pieces on the dining room table (as you’ll see, of course, when you come to visits), so I get daily reminders of our wonderful trip.

I must come to visit! And when I/we do, we must bring you another of her pots.

Yes, please plan a visit! That would be fun. (Hint: we don’t have anything going on next weekend.)

Next weekend is out I am afraid. But we do talk about a trip down you way…

I would love to show you around, although I’m afraid I can’t offer storm drains. Or oceans.

Texan storm drains seem more akin to canyons, so perhaps you can show us a canyon. Or two.

As I write this, the news here is that Mackenzie Park, here in Lubbock (and a shallow canyon), is flooded following a heavy rain. So, I guess our canyons ARE storm drains…

So there you go. Bigger/biggest storm drains. That fits. I hope the floods behave themselves, and stick with the canyons.

UPDATE: the light fixture in my office also acts as a storm drain, which sort of flooded the office for a couple of days. It’s hard to drain flat land…

Hmmm. Sounds like you need a canyon in your office, under the light fixtures. Perhaps you should mention it to the architects in the family.

What we need is some kind of localized tornado, on a weekend, that wipes out the entire building. It’s awful. Oh, and haunted. And you’re right, I do have contacts with architects…
