I know its January and the dead of winter in the northern hemisphere.

All the more reason to hearken back to August and the idyllic view from Yeatman Bay on Quadra Island.

  Some toes were dipped, but the water is quite cold and my toes and cold water don’t do intentional dipping.

  It was a calm place – the forest behind the beach here is quite young, but with many tall branch free stems crowded together and that seems to calm things down too – they dampen sound and slow movement even without any real understory.
