Yesterday I had the afternoon with my granddaughter while my daughter attended a meeting.
We had a good time, including a walk to her favourite café, to stop in for a bite of muffin.
I had just finished a roll of film, and had no replacement, so these pictures are taken with my phone.
I really don’t like taking pictures with a phone – it feels all wrong. But it is a useful backup.
I previously showed a shot taken here in the Songhees development on this same roll of film.
This shot was taken while walking around, cameras in hand, with Gary of the FilmAdvance photo blog.
I was first testing a medium format camera, but with my Olympus XA2 in my coat pocket.
Away from analogue images for a moment here with a belated fifth in a what could be considered a series of storm drain sunrise pictures.
Others in this series can be found here, here, here, and here – they are spread out over a couple of years now.
Another railing shadow in Market Square, this one with a faint window reflection in the other direction.
I like the simplicity of this version.
This forecourt to a hotel is an important stopping point in my granddaughter’s personal geography.
When on foot or in stroller this is a must stop, often for 30 minutes or longer, to watch the fish.
I was meeting her and her mother downtown but after a while decided I should walk the 3 or 4 blocks over here to join them.
This building was catching the light in a way that made me turn around and drive back to see about a picture.
In the end I had to just hold the camera above the fence and my head hoping for good framing.
I like the graduated grey blinds on the outside of the windows, and the yellow is a nice touch.
Yet more shadows from railings in Market Square.
See my About page for details.
