This shadow caught my eye – at first I thought it was a line of window reflections, which seemed odd.
But when I turned around to look behind me I found this communications tower, with a nicely lit wall, as you can see in the next image.
It’s not often that I notice the shadow of a pipe that is nearly flush with the wall.
Let alone such a comprehensive one as this on the wall of the Sugar Nightclub.
If you don’t keep an eye, or two, on that 18 month old she might vanish.
I like the way light from adjacent buildings is reflected across the street.
In this case the wall has subtle textures and that odd rectangle of different coloured paint.
As you can see I waited for a pedestrian to liven the shot up a bit. I think she has cold fingers, though with a fashion for longer sleeves, perhaps I am wrong.
I went for dinner with my granddaughter and family a few days ago, and she sat beneath a light that only properly illuminated her when she looked up.
I was guessing exposures as the camera’s light-meter had just started acting up – I lucked out with this one.
I had a request for something more figurative and less abstract. So here it is.
This shop assistant kindly posed for me wearing these right angle glasses.
They were in the case with some old cameras, but we found them much more interesting than the cameras.
The glasses have mirrors in them so when you wear them you look at your feet.
The last, for a while anyway, in my series of light, shadow and reflected light made in Market Square.
For me it is a toss up between the monochrome and colour versions, though I think the monochrome wins.
All have been shot on film while testing cameras.
See my About page for details.
