I thought it would be appropriate to use the Ross Bay storm drain to test the in-camera HDR feature of the Canon Powershot G15 (despite the title of this post, I am not testing the drains). Especially since there are so many pictures of this location on this blog that were taken with my Canon 5Dii.
More from Ross Bay Cemetery – these images are from last weekend. These are of a tiled surface on a grave.
Yet more from my Dockside Green series, this time a view across the Gorge. At the foot of the Bay Street Bridge is a cement plant with a barge loading (or is it unloading?) facility that consists of several conveyor belts for moving sand and gravel.
Yet more from the frosty deck in the Dockside Green series. Sunrise shadows are pretty awesome things, and this is no exception. Check out the length of the shadow in the lower left – from a small splinter of wood.
Yet more from the Dockside Green series. This deck surface had not been walked on when I started to photograph it. I walked a way onto it and then realised that it looked better with tracks in the frost.
Some of my shots which have the deck surface as the foreground show these foot prints in the forground, and many others caught the untrampled surface. People started to arrive after a while and so I was glad to get some shots without footprints. Although the footprints are kind of nice, and the sole subject of today’s post.
A few more views of one of the buildings in this Dockside Green series reflecting the dawn sunlight on the glassy waters of the Gorge Waterway in Victoria. Once again these are HDR images from 3 brackets – the colour versions are done with fusion settings and the black and white with tonemapping settings in Photomatix.
