I have been experimenting with combining multiple long exposures through HDR software. I am curious about how this will affect the quality of the water and other aspects of the shot. Naturally, this brought me back to the Ross Bay storm drain which I have featured many times over the past year.
The iris leaves are on their way out now. This photo from two or three weeks ago caught their last beauty.
Today was one of those quite windy fall days, but not yet cold. I went to Ross Bay intending to try out my freshly bought remote cable release and timer for some long exposures, but my neutral density filter was not dense enough to get me past 30 seconds, the camera’s limit, and besides I need to put in some effort with the timer manual. In any case, I did take some long exposures and will get to those in the next few days.
Once again I have gone overdue for posting about the Cat. She reminds me I have a Cat tab at the top of the blog just so my readers can find all of Her wonderfulness back to the beginning of blog. I know I should make better use of it. Since she has stopped sleeping on our bed and thus providing warmth to my partner’s feet, I am under double pressure to post these pictures. I know when I am beat, icy feet on my warm legs are really the last straw.
The post is about her ears, which are on the alert for the neighbour’s cat that lives behind where she is sitting, and has tried to visit us of late.
This is the lug of a ceramic hanging planter. It was second-hand somewhere, and first thing in the spring I added a bit of brass picture wire to hang it.
This year the garden has quite a crop of “beach pea” pods. These are very much like sweet peas but the flowers have no scent (drat). They are common along the edge of nearby Pebble Beach so we call them beach peas but they probably have another name. The birds plant them for us.
This rocker is on the front deck. A fuchsia has taken control of one neglected corner, and being neglected, dropped blossoms have collected in a small drift on the cedar boards.
See my About page for details.
