Cloud Pump
The enclosure in the foreground is a pump or lift station for the Harling Point sewer. The clouds are the same ones featured in a recent post of a crow calling, one of my favourite pictures. I doubt that this enclosure will ever feature again in my Harling Point photographs – how could I get a better setting for a shot of the local septic system?
OK, I admit it. The picture is really a cloud picture, not documentation of the local infrastructure. Nice clouds are so much more uplifting.
BTW, unless this is a really slow day, someone looking at this post today will be my 10,000th view! So, thank you to everyone that keeps on coming back to see more. It is gratifying and motivates me to keep up the photography and blogging effort.

I remember that other picture of the clouds, it’s stupendous. I like this one too, though. 🙂

Hi – thanks so much. That other picture is one of my all time favourites. This one pales a bit by comparison, but still worth posting. Happy New Year!

Hi Ken – thank you. The clouds treated me well that day. Today they are flying by throwing patches of light and then going very dark.

Hi Toad – thank you so much. You, kind sir, are responsible for many of those views. Right this minute I am sitting at
946949 (it went up while I was writing) direct referrals from your generous act of including my posts in 8 of your weekly roundups at Lightstalking.com. Since those referrals are people that love photography, many of them look around a bit when they get into my blog. Which means 2 or 3,000 (or more) of my 10,000 views come directly from your kindness at including me in your weekly favourites, and some of those people have subscribed and add daily to my view count. My stats graph is strongly correlated with your publication date :). So, thank you seems very inadequate but it is pretty much all I have to offer. 🙂I too am looking forward to meeting you in the New Year when your schedule settles down. All the best to you and Mrs. Toad for the coming year.

Good morning Joseph – this was a terrific sky. I have a few more shots from the 5 minutes or so that I was given, of some aspects of the Chinese Cemetery. I will get some of those published too.

The clouds are beautiful, but I think the pumping station makes the picture. Great image. Congrats at 10,000!

Hi Ryan – from a sky point of view the pump house does help the picture. From a pumping station point of view, the sky is nearly everything. One of those integrated shots I guess.
