Breakwater Curve

Here is another photograph from Ogden Point Breakwater a couple of weeks ago. In this photo I find the logs that are jammed into cracks between the blocks add a lot to the photo. And when you understand that they are driven into small openings by the force of storm waves, it gives some idea of just how durable this structure is.

This is on the first corner of the breakwater looking south-west towards Metchosin on the very right and Brotchie Ledge marker on the left; between the two, and on a clear day, one can see the Olympic Mountains trailing off to nothing near the northwest tip of the contiguous USA.

You can find out more about the breakwater in my first post of this series. This link collates the series in one place.
