Bathroom Light II

This is the other bathroom in the house. It shares the same light as the first one that I showed being next to it. Though it has a larger window so gets more light.
What caught my eye here was the reflection in the mirror. And the colour of the peony with the walls. To my Canadian viewers – see that touch of red, with some white? It signifies Happy Canada Day!

Here is another side I haven’t seen of you. I like it all very much the coloring, the composition, the coloring, the clean look… quite beautiful.

Hi Joseph. I think it is clean look and the light that attracted my eye. I prefer the shot without the reflection of the flowers because it is simpler. The colours are courtesy of my daughter who chose them – she has a great eye for colour and I would never have thought of the two blues she combined for this room. There is a version of one of these images that is processed to look more like a painting that can be seen here: http://500px.com/photo/39144140. You might like it too. Even cleaner.

You are right about the simpler composition perhaps being better, ehpem, since here it is very much about the clean and simple look. What I like about the 500px photo is its vibrancy. It puts life into the photograph. On another note, leafing through a few of the photographs there, I came across your geranium macro. That one definitely is a winner and very impressive so sharp with the light just right.

Thanks Joseph, glad you like both of those. The geranium is in the blog today as well, I put them both up last night. It is gratifying how well that shot is doing on 500px. That is a photo space I still don’t understand. How things “pulse” and so on. The things that rise to the top are nearly always excellent photographs. But there are a lot of excellent photos that don’t. Social media I guess is a lot about the social and not purely about quality, or not at all about quality sometimes….

Thanks! Has it been that long? My knees tell me it is true, but the rest of me is hoping not.
