Bathroom Light II

IMG_6063-Edit edited

This is the other bathroom in the house. It shares the same light as the first one that I showed being next to it. Though it has a larger window so gets more light.

What caught my eye here was the reflection in the mirror. And the colour of the peony with the walls.  To my Canadian viewers – see that touch of red, with some white? It signifies Happy Canada Day!

    • Hi Joseph. I think it is clean look and the light that attracted my eye. I prefer the shot without the reflection of the flowers because it is simpler. The colours are courtesy of my daughter who chose them – she has a great eye for colour and I would never have thought of the two blues she combined for this room. There is a version of one of these images that is processed to look more like a painting that can be seen here: http://500px.com/photo/39144140. You might like it too. Even cleaner.

      • You are right about the simpler composition perhaps being better, ehpem, since here it is very much about the clean and simple look. What I like about the 500px photo is its vibrancy. It puts life into the photograph. On another note, leafing through a few of the photographs there, I came across your geranium macro. That one definitely is a winner and very impressive so sharp with the light just right.

      • Thanks Joseph, glad you like both of those. The geranium is in the blog today as well, I put them both up last night. It is gratifying how well that shot is doing on 500px. That is a photo space I still don’t understand. How things “pulse” and so on. The things that rise to the top are nearly always excellent photographs. But there are a lot of excellent photos that don’t. Social media I guess is a lot about the social and not purely about quality, or not at all about quality sometimes….
