Breakwater Octopus
This is at the Ogden Point breakwater which has previously shown up in my blog a year or two ago, you can see earlier posts here. Recently the First Nation murals have extended to the outer walls of the breakwater, including some of the huge granite blocks – such as these octopus legs rising out of the sea.
I had the good fortune of a visit from Melinda Green Harvey a fellow blogger from afar and we spent the weekend end poking around Victoria with our spouses. It was fun, and so nice to meet in person! This was one of the shots from the weekend visit.

It was a great weekend – you were both excellent hosts and it was a treat to get to see firsthand all the places I’ve been admiring on your blog for the past few years! Next – you in Texas!

It was a lot of fun to meet you and yours and to show you around. I have not been to Texas – a trip there would be fun. Though I have not idea how to photograph an endless and essentially flat horizon.

The horizon is easy – just stick it in the bottom one-third of your frame, as straight as possible (you can line it up in post production if you need to). That’s all it takes, really, to be a Texas photographer…

That is so simple. Not sure I can handle that!
