Light of their Life
I went for dinner with my granddaughter and family a few days ago, and she sat beneath a light that only properly illuminated her when she looked up.
I was guessing exposures as the camera’s light-meter had just started acting up – I lucked out with this one.
The camera was given me by my father, and the lens by my mother – left overs from their film years.
A lot of family pictures have been shot with the camera, or through this lens. It was very nice to add to that history with the latest generation of the family.

Thanks Andy – I like it too, I had to wait quite a while till she looked up and this is what was offered. I like the film feel of this shot too – the underexposed areas have a tonality to them that seems to be missing in digital.

Let me say, as a neutral third party, that I think she IS completely adorable.

Next time you are in town perhaps you will meet her. Then you wont be able to claim neutrality quite so easily 🙂

Are you keeping a list of all the things we’ve discussed doing on my next visit?!? It seems to get longer and longer.
And, I’d glad trade neutrality for a chance to meet the little one…

No list being kept. I just noticed that we were going to find a few empties (was that how it was put?). I think we are going to have quite a lot of fun. And I am sure that a chance to meet the little one can be arranged.

Find empties or create them… either way will probably work out. I am looking forward to a return visit.

Awww. She is the light of our lives. And she looks possessed in this photo! Ha.

She is completely adorable, and that is a truth, not a grandparent’s exaggeration.
Probably she was explaining the picture she had been drawing while we waited for food, which was worthy of excited exclaiming!
