Drain Breaker

This storm drain structure in Ross Bay is one of my most frequently photographed subjects, as you can see at this link.

When I was making these beach pictures I was thinking of a black and white conversion without knowing for sure that the expired film would pretty much require such treatment.

The Olympus XA series have a hair trigger shutter release – my XA much more so than this XA2, but even so I occasionally manage to fire off a shot unexpectedly with both cameras.

I quite like the one below where the storm drain is just visible once you know to look for it.

In some ways it gives a better sensation of the wind and water movement that the first shot.
