The Belfry Theatre is in an old church, which is hardly surprising given its name, and how batty playwrights can be.
This is one of the windows, blocked off on the inside, but still nice on the outside when the morning light hits it.

Hi Andy – it is a shame, but at least the building continues a useful life. It has been a theatre for decades now and that transformation came about in an age where heritage buildings were being torn down and replaced at a furious pace.

Yes, it is a shame the windows are not being seen in their full glory. At least they were not removed or destroy for the repurposing!

That is true, and they are not rendered invisible from the outside by filthy and now translucent plexiglass like some of the nicest stained glass downtown.

Why do we treat our architectural legacy so shoddily? Happens here a lot too. Europe treats theirs with reverence. We are philistines in the ‘new world’.

Now there is a question. Things seem to be built to be knocked down. A transient mindset of a transient population barely settled on the land.
