Flipped Actor

2014-HF04-63-16bitHDR An actor’s trailer on Clover Point during filming, shot with my half-frame film camera. This is an in-camera diptych where the camera is flipped between shots and the digital image is made by scanning the adjacent frames. I did not get the wheels lined up, which I was aiming for, though perhaps this way there is more tension in the photo.   (more…)

Verandah Shadows

This is a phone photo taken on Quadra Island a couple of months ago.

This verandah is suspended at the edge of a cliff down to the beach, with a steep set of stairs to water level.

It is a lovely spot – I can hardly wait to get back there in a few weeks.

More flowers from our recent visit to the Horticultural Centre of the Pacific. I think these are all irises, but please feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

I liked the wide ranging variety at the garden – these are just a small sample of what was on offer a couple of weeks ago.

Garden Décor

I am not sure I could abide a garden décor centred on this kind of art – a little bit goes a long way.

For some reason (perhaps the white background) this image seems unlike pretty much all my other photos from the past few years.

Not sure if that is a good thing, but I will let you judge.

My daughter and granddaughter have spent a lot of time at our place the last days, in preparation for a big event.

Keeping the little one happy involves all kinds of activities, but the best standby for when she is verging on cranky are raspberries.

Yesterday she was a raspberry eating machine.
