The Funk and Junk store in Friday Harbor, San Juan Island in Washington State lives up to its name in a big way. These chairs were the first thing I saw that I really wanted to photograph in the store. Fortunately, the person working in the store has Hitty dolls and after I had taken a photo of the visit between countries, I was free to shoot these chairs, and a lot of other stuff in the store too.

Today I continue my series from San Juan Island in Washington State with some more HDR processed images of an old house parked next to Beaverton Valley Road. The house looks as if it were moved to this location since it rests well above the ground on struts. In any case, the roof was irresistible. I wish I could have explored around a bit, but did not want to trespass so kept to the margins of the road. The light was pretty bad – a bright background and deeply shaded front of the building – so I opted for HDR to even things out a bit.

This is inside a cabin at the Friday Harbor Labs. I was just going into the kitchen for dinner when this scene appeared.

Once again, comments on an earlier post about this topic have resulted in a post title. These barbecues, or grilles as I suspect they are locally called, were lined up and waiting to be shared, as can be seen in the other shots from this Friday Harbor series.

It’s my mother’s birthday today. Happy Birthday! Last weekend we went for a very nice walk, on a perfect day, down to Deadman’s Bay on San Juan Island. So, this fits into my Friday Harbor series and is a chance to say Happy Birthday from afar.

Comments on yesterday’s post have given rise to today’s title. This is a place where BBQ grills hang out, in the spirit of sharing, at least that is the theory.

Unlike the other BBQs I spotted at the Friday Harbor labs , this one seems to have gone solo – must not have been in a sharing mood like the others. Even so, I am sharing it with you.
