Along the boardwalk into the SGang Gwaay World Heritage Site in Gwaii Haanas (map link).
Visited while travelling on the Passing Cloud.
This salmon can run, on its own legs.
Seen in Sandspit, Haida Gwaii (map link).
Another shot of the Inland Air dock in Queen Charlotte, Haida Gwaii (map link), this one made with a point and shoot and consumer grade film (compare to previous post here).
There are only two places to get water into a boat in Gwaii Haanas, one is across from Shuttle Island (map link) in Darwin Sound
While the Passing Cloud was watering up I poked around the area for a while, where this bit of cedar caught my eye.
The hot springs dried up on Hotsprings Island (map link) in Gwaii Haanas in 2012 following a large earthquake.
Over the past few years the springs have begun to flow again, but at a point lower on the island which necessitated construction of new pools, which were finished last winter.
Crew and passengers from the Passing Cloud couldn’t wait to try out the hottest pool.
Looking north from a fair weather anchorage tucked in behind the Limestone Islands (map link) on the east shore of Louise Island . This location is just north of Gwaii Haanas near the village of K’uuna Llnagaay (Skedans), photographed from the Passing Cloud.
Oxford Food is a small grocery store in Cook Street Village.
I like the way the light catches in the yellow slats, but haven’t got the shot quite right yet.
