Santa Monica Pier V

Dawn on the Santa Monica pier, with compulsive walker and Ferris wheel.

I waited a while for something like this guy to happen in this setting, and for the lights on the wheel to be nice, and the surf to be breaking.

Too bad the surf was not curling and holding the dawn and pier light a bit, but the rest of it worked out just fine.

Sam Abell Workshop

This is photographer Sam Abell instructing the workshop that I attended at the Los Angeles Center of Photography.

To start off the class each of us presented eight images we had selected for the purpose.

Sam asked a lot of questions and provided commentary about the photos, and that is what he is doing in this photograph.

Drink My Liquor From An Old Fruit Jar

I was walking up this street with Melinda Green Harvey while we were taking Sam Abell‘s workshop in Los Angeles and we both had the same idea for a photo at the same time.

Melinda’s can be seen here – I like hers because the person under the shoe is cringing a bit, as they should be.

I like mine because it includes an advertisement for a photographer, which seems really appropriate.
