Today is a continuation of my multi-year series from the Friday Harbor Labs. These barbecues caught my eye from afar – it was the shiny legs that really interested me, but when I got over to them I forgot to take pictures of the legs. I have more pictures, so today will be part of a sub-series from San Juan Island.
I suspect that the sharing invocation is actually about sharing the barbecues, not the food cooked on them. Though I would like to think it were the latter. There actually is no shortage of sharing food and ideas and lending a hand at the Labs – it is a vibrant community where a people work hard and occasionally play pretty hard too.

I like the idea of a community barbecue. Thanks, for sharing (no pun intended).

Ken, I am sorry, but I don’t believe you, about your punning intentions. But that is OK, I like puns, except maybe some of the worst groaners.

We were there the day of the barbecue . Visiting high school kids on field trip – about 30 people, and it didnt rain for once!

Hi Val – thanks for the info. I had thought they were just lined up for the impending influx of summer researchers. Makes much more sense that they were for a visiting group.
