Wither Art Thou Iris
Yet more of the withered irises in my garden, featured previously here and here. These three posts are all shot within a day or two of each other, and today’s were all shot right after I took the picture of Cat No.2 in yesterday’s post. These are mostly with a different lens at a higher magnification, or at least in much tighter. I think the extra magnification gives these a very different feel.
There are still crinkly brown bits out there that more fastidious gardeners would have removed by now, but I am back at work and catching the morning light seems harder to manage.

Oh, these are wonderful, ehpem. I really like the variations in the depth of field, the textures and the overall abstract nature of them all. Really lovely.

I have not removed the brown leaves yet. I must not be a fastidious gardener. I happen to think they look fine the way they are, as these photos prove.

Hi Ken – you are of course leaving those brown leaves in case the light hits them right and you can get a shot. A fastidious photographer instead! Glad you like these shots.

These are all beautiful. I especially like the 4th shot, which almost looks like banks of clouds over rocky, arid terrain. You’ve done a great job capturing the inherent beauty in these dead flowers.

Thanks Melinda! That fourth shot I rotated 90 degrees. It seemed to work a lot better on its side, so I am glad that you like it that way.

Sneaky – rotating a shot. It turned out really well, so that was a good decision!
