Stormy Drain II
More for the storm drain series, the last of which looked as if it is long and floating. The main difference between this shot and the last one Long Drain is the length of the exposure, and that this is a 3-bracket HDR treatment. I think this one shows how the sea conditions could make Long Drain turn out as it did.

It was such a bright day that my ND filter did not give me the length of exposure I was hoping for, but the water and clouds have a nice feel.

I may not have brought this to your attention before now, but I very fond of this drain. And this is one of my favorite shots of it. I love the way you caught the waves hovering like a specter above the drain.

Sorry, Ehpem, about the deal with that inner grammarian. She’s sort of a pest, and hard to ignore, always changing up words, changing commas into semicolons, and so forth. If you ask ME, the grammarian needs to change her comment, instead of the other way around…

Don’t be sorry – I was teasing you, which I should be sorry about (but am mostly not). Grammar is not my strong suit – I had one hour of grammar instruction in English for my entire schooling – it was Grade 8or 9 and the teacher was apologetic about having to do it.

It looks like it is frozen today. Better to say, it looks more like a long block of ice jutting out into the sea than a concrete drain. It really is fascinating how different it is each time – skill of the photographer, I’d say!
