Upcycled
I had not seen, or perhaps noticed, the word ‘upcycled’ until I saw it on the sign of the Eclectic Cottage furniture shop in Campbell River last weekend.
I very much like this building which seems one of the few older commercial buildings left in a town dominated by big boxes
I took this shot on colour film with the intent of converting it to black and white though I did not count on quite so much grain, I like how it came out.

I am off for several weeks of field research. Which means this blog will slow to a crawl as I won’t have much time for it.
There will be answers to comments, but they might be slow in coming. Please comment anyway if you feel moved to it.

Love the top-heavy phone pole.

Hi Richard. I like that part too.

One of your best I think – a funny old box of a building, dappled sky, tilting poles and a tangle of wires has a weird sort of beauty, or is just old-west nostalgia. You could break your neck coming down that fire escape. The property line lie just to the left of
its foot.

Thans Val! Inspired in part by Melinda Green Harvey’s photos. As it happens she was visiting when I posted this. Though not when I took it.

Love the building, too! “Eclectic Cottage” sure is, judging by their Facebook page!
