Some photos from the publicity shots I took of the Sam Weber Band – these are all taken along the Harling Point waterfront. Check out this interview with Sam from yesterday which has some solo acoustic versions of his songs http://bit.ly/1ORlcoq.
These photographs are selected from some band publicity shots that I did in late February. I am cleared to show them now that their new album is about to be released. My interest and involvement with the Sam Weber band springs from my son being a member. Mercifully they make very nice music that I am more than happy to listen to. In fact, I have an advance copy of their new album Valentina Nevada playing while I write. If interested, for the few remaining days before the album release snippets of all the songs can be heard at this link. There is a good interview with Sam, including a couple of solo acoustic versions of the new songs here.

This part of the Mayne Island shoreline has little corners that are full of logs, at least seasonally.
Opposite this shore is the outflow of the Fraser River.
The river discharges 112 cubic kilometres of water per annum, including a lot of logs.
More of Sam Weber and his band, with another example of a the film shots I made for them to use in the release of their new album.
The album sounds great, I have heard an advance copy and it is worth having.
It will be out next week and you can order it through links here where you can also here three of the songs.
This link has information on the album release party in Victoria which I am really looking forward to.
In fact it’s a double release party with Quoia who are also releasing a new album.
My son plays for both bands, so how could I miss their album release?
BTW, don’t blame Sam, a west coast boy, for supporting the New York Rangers.
After all, he’s a musician and the inside of his head rings with music – there is little room left for sensible thoughts about hockey.
This is Sam Weber (foreground) and his band a couple of months ago.
Sam wanted some shots on film in the lead up to the release of a new album.
That album will be out next week – click here for a song from the new album and information about their recent activities.

I have been fortunate enough to hear an advance copy of Sam’s Valentina Nevada release and it has many good songs on it.
I like the solitary feeling of this stretch of Mayne Island shoreline.
I have only been here when it is overcast and quite grey.
I wonder if it feels less lonely when the sun is warm and the skies are blue.
Another from a recent trip to Mayne Island.
I like this kind of shore, but this picture says “slippery” to me.
In spring the turtles reappear on this log in a pond in Beacon Hill park.
Now there are nine or ten of them, but when I took this a month or two ago there were two at most.
Taking this photo inspired me to return with my pinhole camera a few weeks later – that picture can be found here.
