Another shot from the car deck of the MV Powell River Queen.
Not sure why this chock did not make it under a car; the ferry was packed and thus no shortage of wheels.
My granddaughter has reached the age of non-stop talking.
It doesn’t matter if anyone is listening, she just loves to talk.
All the time.
It was so nice to have her visit me in the field.
We checked out this restaurant garden on a very nice day.
In one hand is a packet of seeds reclaimed from some seed heads of flowers in the garden.
Next year perhaps she will have a patch of flowers like this in her own yard.
Last year I had a couple of blog posts (here and here) showing the vinyl records that have been used as siding on part of the Heriot Bay Inn on Quadra Island.
I could not resist another shot, this time with the phone.
V marks the photographer’s feet. This is on the car deck of the MV Powell River Queen.
These steps were less vivid from above, but still the safety message was obscured in the jangle of yellow lines.
I hope you’re not getting tired of phone photos.
I am having fun rolling out old and new shots found on the memory card in my phone.
And in treating it as a camera, somewhat limited, but serviceable nonetheless.
One of the great things about fieldwork this month is that it is located less than an hour from my daughter and her family.
They came to visit my first weekend here, and we went out for dinner in Heriot Bay.
My granddaughter had fish fingers. She wasn’t bothered by them.
To me the idea of fish with fingers is creepy, and to eat them downright appalling, but perhaps that is just me.

One of the crew remarked when we passed through this cut block that this kind of silviculture always reminds her of a tree graveyard.
