Bench Walk

The other day I mentioned that I seem to have a lot of images of public benches in my archives, as well as the Adirondack chairs I showed in that post. Black and white benches, none of which are so plain as to be only black and white – the long one concrete one (with road stripes), for instance, is a pastel blue rather like washed out turquoise.

Leaf Stem Flower

In three earlier posts (herehere and here) I have shown the clouds from a lightning storm that displayed a couple of weeks ago, some in colour and some in black and white. Adirondack Walk

My longer term readers have seen that my eye has been drawn to Adirondack chairs around my neighbourhood, several earlier posts can be found here. Ross Bay Poppy Way

A walk along the Ross Bay causeway the other day led me onto a path at the west end that climbs up to the higher parts of Dallas Road. The way is cut into the slope and lined with a concrete wall on one side, asphalt path and a metal railing on the other. Hanging over the top of the wall were clump after clump of California poppies, all the way to the top. How could I resist, fast lens in hand?

Lightning Clouds II

Yesterday I told how we had a rare and full value lightning storm a couple of weeks ago, and how I ventured out to take pictures, though not of the lightning as I was too timid (I like to think smart) to take my tripod with me. Instead I went to take shots of the clouds and sky and light. Within 10 minutes of leaving the front door I was in a torrential downpour, one of many that swept over the area.
