The area of Trafalgar Park that burned last year now has a vigorous crop of thistle.
More of the Trafalgar Park grass which I posted about a couple of days ago, including a long exposure.
Sadly, people are slobs and leave their rubbish all over the place. I was pretty annoyed to find it around Trafalgar Park when shooting a few days ago.
Trafalgar Park has many varieties of grass which were very active in the wind when I was giving my new lens a workout here a few days ago.
Today after dinner I played with my new macro in Trafalgar Park – I am still trying to master it, learn the tricks and get a feel for using it. In these pictures I really like the little touches of setting sun on the small corners of the stone.
Today we had more lightning and the dark clouds to go with it. I was busy and could not get out with the camera.
But, I have an image or two left from the last thunder storm 3 weeks ago.
How does one define self-indulgence in a photographer? Perhaps = “succumbs to the allure of a new lens”? That was me today. I bought a Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 Macro USM, lightly used. It was an excellent price, and I could not resist. The rest of my excuse? It’s my birthday in a few days, so that is a pretty good start. Unfortunately, my spouse was mid-air between Iceland and Seattle so I could not consult with her. I did not think this opportunity would last long, so had to move quickly.
